It's Punky Brewster

It's Punky Brewster is an animated spin-off of the live-action sitcom Punky Brewster, produced by Ruby-Spears Productions, running for 26 episodes over two seasons in 1985-86.

The animated series added a new magical character, a 'leprechaun gopher' named Glomer, who came from a city called Chaundoon at the end of the rainbow and had the power to instantly teleport Punky and her friends anywhere on Earth.

The show reused the voices of the original live-action cast playing their own characters, including Soleil Moon Frye as Punky Brewster and George Gaynes as Henry Warnimont.

Susie Garrett (Betty Johnson) and T. K. Carter (Mike) were the only regular cast members from the live-action sitcom who did not lend their voices to the cartoon.

Although its unofficial name is It's Punky Brewster (or simply Punky when it premiered), the title card and TV listings only ever billed the show as Punky Brewster.

The show was cancelled in September 1987, but reruns returned from October 1988 to September 1989 after NBC cancelled the live-action preteen show 2 Hip 4 TV, and it was later syndicated as part of Maxie's World in the 1989-90 season.

Due to music rights issues, the episode 'The Shoe Must Go On' was excluded from the Shout! Factory DVD season box sets because it featured Harold Faltermeyer's 'Axel F', the theme from Beverly Hills Cop.

The series was parodied in a 2009 episode of Robot Chicken, with Soleil Moon Frye reprising her role as Punky while Seth Green voiced Henry Warnimont and Tom Kane voiced Glomer.
