Eyewitness

Eyewitness is the American adaptation of the Norwegian TV series Øyevitne (Witness Unfound), which also inspired the French-Belgian series Les Innocents and the Romanian series Valea Mută.

Unlike the original Norwegian series and other adaptations, each version presents notable differences, particularly in how the story is resolved.

In the French adaptation Les Innocents, Odile Vuillemin, known for playing criminal psychologist Chloé Saint-Laurent for seven seasons in Profilage, plays a gendarmerie captain opposite Tomer Sisley, who portrays a sexual predator and serial killer.

Actor Jules Houplain, who plays one of the two teenage boys, had already starred in a 2016 production called Baisers cachés which also dealt with a homosexual relationship between two high school students.

Victor Meutelet, who plays the other teenage boy, had previously played a young gay character in a relationship with Rayane Bensetti in the series Clem.

For his role as a mountain bike trial competitor, actor Victor Meutelet was doubled by international mountain biker Nicolas Vuillermot; in the original Norwegian series, the equivalent character was a motocross fan instead.

Filming for the French adaptation took place over 13 weeks between May 10 and August 14, 2017, in the Aude and Pyrénées-Orientales regions of France, including three weeks in Céret, using natural landscapes, monuments, and regional trains supported financially by the Occitanie region.
