This 2018 series is a new adaptation of the Captain Tsubasa manga and a reboot of the Olive et Tom series, modernized with the appearance of contemporary objects such as touchscreen tablets and smartphones.

The first season covers only the elementary and middle school story arcs, while the second season, aired between 2023 and 2024, adapts the Junior National Tournament arc and thus makes it possible to cover the entire manga.

Unlike previous French adaptations, this version retains the original Japanese names of the characters, the title and the football teams instead of Frenchifying them, although most of the voice actors from the old series reprise their respective roles.

In France, the series experienced several different broadcasts: simulcast on Anime Digital Network, then on TF1 from June 2019 in a censored version, on TFX since 2019 in an uncensored complete version, as well as on Game One and Nickelodeon.

The broadcast on TF1 was subject to several censorship cuts, particularly at each appearance of Roberto Hongo's alcohol bottle in episodes 3 to 5 as well as during a flashback scene where he receives a blow to the head.

In the censored version of episode 20, a slap given by Jun Misugi to Yayoi Aoba was cut from the editing, but the mark of the slap remains visible on the character's face afterwards, due to the lack of complete retouching of the original images.
