The series aired for two seasons on NBC from April 1995 to May 1996 before being cancelled due to low ratings, after which UPN quickly picked it up for two more seasons.

Reception

UPN cancelled the show in May 1998, but it continued for a fifth and final season in first-run syndication, ending on August 11, 1999.

Origins

After the second season, the show was retooled to become more adult-oriented, with Jackie and Austin's characters moving back East while Tiffany stayed with Marion.

Casting

Alfonso Ribeiro joined the cast for season three as Dr. Maxwell Stanton, having previously starred as Carlton Banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Kim Wayans joined the cast in season two as Tonia Harris after being known as a cast member of In Living Color.

Reception

The show later aired in syndication on outlets including WWOR-TV in New York, TV One from 2004 to 2008, BET in 2016, Aspire starting in 2020, and began streaming on HBO Max on November 1, 2021.
