Origins

The series marks the second collaboration between screenwriter Kang Eun-kyung and director Shin Woo-cheol, following their 2013 drama Gu Family Book.

Origins

The show's early working title was 'Incheon Airport People' (인천공항 사람들) before it was changed to Where Stars Land.

Casting

The lead roles were first offered to Hyun Bin and Park Shin-hye, and later to Park Bo-gum and Bae Suzy, but all of them declined before Lee Je-hoon and Chae Soo-bin were cast.

Filming

The first script reading took place on July 28, 2018, at the SBS Ilsan Production Studios in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.

Reception

Lee Je-hoon won the Best Actor award in the Monday-Tuesday drama category at the 2018 SBS Drama Awards, while Chae Soo-bin received the Excellence Award for Actress in the same category, and the series itself won the Grand Prize (Daesang-adjacent Best Drama).
