Six episodes of Wild Bill were commissioned by ITV in October 2018, with the series premiering on 12 June 2019.

Casting

Rob Lowe both starred in the series as Chief Constable Bill Hixon and served as an executive producer on the show.

Casting

Aloreia Spencer, who plays Hixon's teenage daughter Kelsey, made her on-screen acting debut in this series.

Filming

Filming began in November 2018, with cast members Anjli Mohindra, Rachael Stirling and Angela Griffin confirmed to be part of the production at that time.

Reception

ITV cancelled Wild Bill after just a single series, announcing the decision on 13 November 2019.

Reception

The series received mixed reviews; The Guardian's Lucy Mangan gave the premiere three stars while comparing the show to a joke about 'a horse loose in a hospital', whereas The Independent gave it two stars, calling it 'grim and a bit cheapo' and a 'howling letdown'.

Reception

Despite its cancellation in the UK, the show was picked up internationally, airing on CBC Television in Canada starting 9 March 2020 and released weekly on BritBox North America from 4 August 2020.
