Almost Family is an American adaptation of the Australian television series Sisters, developed for Fox by Annie Weisman.

The show went through two title changes during development: it was originally announced as Sisters, then changed to Not Just Me before finally becoming Almost Family shortly before its debut.

The pilot was directed by Leslye Headland, who also served as an executive producer alongside Jason Katims, Jeni Mulein, Imogen Banks and Sharon Levy.

Brittany Snow and Megalyn Echikunwoke were the first actors cast, landing the pilot's lead roles in February 2019, followed by Emily Osment and Victoria Cartagena joining in March 2019.

The series was cancelled by Fox after just one season, only about five months after its premiere.

On Rotten Tomatoes, Almost Family holds a low 28% approval rating based on 18 reviews, with critics summarizing that 'an appealing cast can't make up for Almost Family's appalling premise.'

Metacritic gave the show a weighted average score of 38 out of 100 based on 11 critics, indicating 'generally unfavorable reviews.'
