Origins

The New Woody Woodpecker Show was co-developed by animators Bob Jaques and Kelly Armstrong as an updated version of the original The Woody Woodpecker Show, produced by Universal Cartoon Studios.

Origins

The series aired on Fox's Fox Kids programming block from May 8, 1999, to July 27, 2002, with a total of 53 episodes comprising 155 segments, plus one episode-length Christmas special and one classic Chilly Willy cartoon.

Casting

Woody Woodpecker was voiced by Billy West, who also voiced multiple other characters in the show including Wally Walrus, Dr. Doug Nutts, the Judge, and Cupid.

Mark Hamill voiced three different characters in the series: the main antagonist Buzz Buzzard, his henchman Tweaky the Lackey, and the psychotic Creepy Badger.
