Suzume

Suzume

Such a beautiful movie, beautiful in all its aspects. It touches on so many meaningful themes. How bonds are formed. How loss is processed. How to reach your inner child (search the door!) to give comfort, given all it’s been through/all it will have to go through. Loved how the circle was completed: Suzume had a feeling she’d seen Souta before. Because she had: when her older self waves goodbye to her younger self. Then enhancing this bond by their joint adventures while saving the world, their care for each other. And then that imagery, just astonishing! I just felt sad that Daijin “couldn’t be her cat”….
