The Substance

OVERHYPED I liked the visuals, sound design, the idea behind it and that Demi Moore wasn't afraid of showing how 'old' she has become. But as the creation of Sue started happening the story started lacking substance. How come the 'better self' knows right from the start what to do to keep themselves alive, but doesn't know what's best for them? How come the 'better self' is only a younger version and not a better version characterwise? And when I see Sue's butt one more time... To me it felt like two movies merged together: 1) The critisism of beauty standards which was way too obvious to a point it got annoying. The final is some nice body horror though. 2) A story about addiction - substance abuse so to say.
