I remember watching this as a kids omggggg !

As a late-90s blockbuster, it’s serviceable. The New York setting is used well, and the pacing rarely stalls. The military sequences and citywide chaos is okay, and the creature design of Zilla, while controversial, stands out as something different from traditional kaiju portrayals.

Um bom filme, mas força demais um romance sem química, e ainda tem personagens bem aleatórios. O que eu curto de verdade é a ambientação chuvosa

it felt a bit too long until the babies hatched at it started getting better and i was entertained by them running away, i loved the taxi chase scene 😂

TriStar, ayant acquis les droits américains de Godzilla, propose son propre film : le monstre est réveillé par des essais nucléaires dans le Pacifique Sud et débarque à New York, semant chaos et destruction. Le docteur Nick Tatopoulos, spécialiste des mutations, est d’abord consulté par l’armée pour analyser le phénomène, mais ses théories jugées invraisemblables le font renvoyer. Après son renvoi, Nick rencontre l’agent Philippe Roaché et décide de continuer à étudier Godzilla par ses propres moyens pour comprendre ses motivations et tenter de limiter les dégâts. Le film se déroule principalement la nuit et sous la pluie, ce qui masque partiellement les limites des effets spéciaux. Godzilla est représenté en CGI, mais ses proportions et sa taille varient selon les scènes, créant des incohérences. Les personnages humains, comme Jean Réno, apparaissent caricaturaux et apportent peu à l’intrigue. Le design du monstre transforme radicalement Godzilla en un gigantesque velociraptor, et Minilla, censé être attachant, devient agressif. À sa sortie, le film est critiqué par la presse et les fans, reçoit plusieurs nominations aux Razzies, et les spectateurs japonais rebaptisent le monstre Zilla pour marquer leur désapprobation.

Plein d'invraissemblances et pas beaucoup d'originalité mais quand même un bon moment de détente. J'ai bien aimé Godzilla décrit comme étant un amphibien.

"Godzilla" di Roland Emmerich è un classico blockbuster americano di fine anni '90. È cinema d'intrattenimento nella sua forma più disinvolta possibile, un fanta-action in cui la regia, gli effetti speciali e visivi primeggiano in modo assoluto, mettendo in scena un film dal ritmo serrato e coinvolgente che non ha bisogno d'impegnare molto il cervello. Aggiungiamo anche una buona dose di umorismo azzeccato e degli argomenti sicuramente molto rilevanti per la narrazione, come le mutazioni dovute alle radiazioni e l'istinto distruttivo dell'uomo contro la natura, per confezionare un prodotto sicuramente riuscito. Perciò, qual è il vero problema del primo"Godzilla" a stelle e strisce? Effettivamente, non è Godzilla. Il protagonista è un'iguana che ha subito un'evoluzione fuori da ogni logica, il che è interessante da un certo punto di vista, ma così andiamo a perdere tutta la mitologia cinematografica giapponese di ciò che è questo personaggio e le delicate tematiche che si trascina dietro fin dal principio. Avesse avuto un altro nome, la pellicola avrebbe di certo suscitato ben altro apprezzamento.

Fun fact: While they are in the stadium where there are all the computers u can see a miniature of one alien from Independence Day. Seems that Roland Emmerich left an Easter egg for us

You can't give humanity to a creature and then blow it up with a bunch of bombs and guns without me feeling some type of way. If this movie took the bromance route between Nik and Godzilla it would've been way better. I wanna see someone ride this bad boy 🤷🏻

Pior filme do Godzilla que já vi, sem exagero. Essa coisa não se parece em nada com o Godzilla, não tem a música tema clássica, não tem a maneiríssima baforada atômica e o design da coisa é horrível... Dito isso, até que me diverti assistindo.

Worst Godzilla movie ever made.

I genuinely wonder, who thought this was a good idea? It's wild to me that the script was written, reviewed, approved, filmed, edited and released, how come no one in the entire production used their brain? This was painful and boring, I want my time back.

Primeiro filme do lagartão na sessão da tarde a gente nunca esquece kkkkk, gostava muito de assistir esse e ao desenho mesmo não sendo meu favorito.
