Een 16-jarig meisje dat wordt opgevoed door haar alleenstaande moeder komt er op een dag achter dat ze de prinses is van een klein Europees landje. Ze moet nu een keus maken tussen haar leven als tiener in San Francisco, of de troon bestijgen in Europa. Terwijl Mia haar keuze probeert te maken krijgt ze prinses-lessen van haar grootmoeder.
