this movie is a masterpiece and should be studied in world cinema classes around the world, yet something about it so innately Pakistani that its true brilliance simply cant reach someone not of this land. also you need a masters degree in Urdu to understand most of the dialogue in the film, that just cannot be translated for better or for worse. for example "chup chaap galiyon mein roti hai" translated, this says she cries in silent streets or she cries silently in streets or the streets are crying silently or..... you get the idea. its like this for most of the dialogue and Mir's poetry (which serves as voice over for large portions of the film) has literally been studied for centuries and has hundreds of interpretations. regardless this film hauntingly beautiful and definitely worth a watch. 10616

most people, unfortunately, do not know what it was to be a 9 year old girl in 2013. nor can they ever understand what this story means to these young ladies, now 16, scared shitless entering the world. and thus they will never truly feel the comfort this film brings. being amongst magical princesses and talking snowmen one last time. they dont know how watching this film is a pat on the back. a quiet reminder of the childhood we are leaving behind.

i never ever write reviews but this is my most hated film of all freaking time. muslim women barely get any films made about us and when we do its some white saviour bullshit about us secretly hating our religion, being "forced" to wear our scarves and need to be "liberated" by the boys around us. and everyone goes around hailing this, at best mediocre, by the numbers, formulaic shite as the muslim voice we all neeeded and go around thinking they need to free us from "oppresion". you dont want to wear a scarf ? absolutely fine, you do you, but dont make us out to be poor helpless souls who need to be freed from this absolute torture device of a soft headscarf.

things i liked chicken thieves emmas fantasies the three newlyweds dancing together at the end the proposal scene oh lord harriet oh lord miss bates the fact that emma dosent completely forgive frank by the end mark strong kate beckinsale crying frank churchill im sure theres more but i cant remember things i didnt like that we get reminded time and time again that hes 16 years older and held her as a baby even during the damn propsal that they are more or less brother and sister the last tenish minutes ie the parts that were never in the book there arent enough scenes of emma and miss taylor the fact that mr knightley never tells her why he went to to london frank churchill im sure theres more but i cant remember

Brilliant familial banter and manages the theme of found family better than the 24 fast and furious movies. Such a poser. Natasha Romanoff. Natasha Romanoff super spy avenger in a fluffy hoodie the first time we see her. Natasha Romanoff kicking ass Natasha Romanoff kicking ass to save a generation of brilliant young women from mental and physical torture Natasha Romanoff being the true definition of a hero Natasha Romanoff constantly making the sacrifice play so that no one ever has to go through the pain that she did. Natasha Romanoff being happy Natasha Romanoff flying off into the sunset to break some avengers out if prison. I ran out of stars to give after the Scarlett Johansson part
