The Heineken Kidnapping Seven oN ★ 6
Though there are reviewers who liked the acting, especially compared to other Dutch movies, for me the acting didn’t feel natural, it was still very much “ acting” (except for Rutger Hauer of course, excellent performance). On top of that the story doesn’t represent what truly happened (I didn’t know that beforehand). It did manage to pique my interest though so I’ll be reading some books on the kidnapping and on Holleeder’s life. 0
Black Panther: Yaşasın Wakanda Seven oN ★ 8
Again, a great movie with good acting and awesome images. Loved Namor (really hope (and expect) to see more of him). Loved the tribute to Chadwick. The loss and heartbreak felt so real. Interesting developments. Black Panther will return… My heart can’t accept that (yet?)… 0
I Wanna Dance with Somebody: Whitney Houston Filmi Seven oN ★ 8
How I loved Whitney Houston, her voice, her songs. I experienced quite a lot of goosebumps in the day, listening to her music. And how shocked I was when I heard of her death…so young… So yeah, obviously I shed quite some tears watching this movie, also because of the great acting, Tamara Tunie in particular. I truly felt her pain. Naomi did an excellent job as well, though for me she was slightly less convincing. I have to admit this might be due to a wrong image I have of Whitney, but I just felt less sympathy for Naomi, perhaps because to me her expression is…don’t really know how to express it, less open and warm…? But obviously a great movie nonetheless, I keep thinking about it. 0
Charlie'nin Melekleri Seven oN ★ 7
Though I can’t remember much about the previous Charlie’s Angels, apparently I liked it (gave it 7/10). Maybe the movie was truly different from this one or I was in another “fase” of my life… This one just wasn’t really for me. I loved the tv series and it kind of hurt watching this so called funny, over the top movie… 0
Nil'de Ölüm Seven oN ★ 5
A dramatic mystery or maybe even better to classify it as a mysterious drama/romance. I’m going to be honest: if I hadn’t read any Agatha Christie’s Poirot and if I hadn’t watched any episode with David Suchet portraying Poirot, I might’ve liked this movie (a little bit) better. Although I do agree with the reviewers who have stated that the setting feels “out of time”; it’s all too modern. But above all, Poirot as well as Bouc feel totally, completely, utterly out of character. And wow, that hurt, really bad…. And then there’s Hammer whose acting I’ve never liked; nothing feels natural, it all feels fake, you just see him acting instead of living it. So yeah, trying to forget this is a Hercule Poirot, I’ll be generous and give it 5/10. 0
Bak Nasıl Da Kaçıyorlar Seven oN ★ 8
Loved this movie! As a fan of old fashioned cozy British murder mysteries I couldn’t but love this comedy-mystery/mystery-comedy. A whodunnit about whodunnits with some mystery, some humor, some great actors, nostalgic atmosphere, nice film set design and great editing. Very enjoyable and entertaining! 0
Kemikler ve Her Şey Seven oN ★ 7
An atmospheric mix of horror, drama and romance. Loved the storyline showing both youths’ internal conflicts about (not) being a good person while trying to live their lives and just survive. Liked the overall movie but not the end. It was like all of a sudden I was watching a whole different movie… Too bad! 0
Ay'ın Düşüşü Seven oN ★ 7
Very fun movie, interesting plot/theory, likable characters, decent special effects. Yes, of course suspension of disbelief is required, as is with most of these disaster/save the world movies but the over the top moments didn’t make me roll my eyes but rather they made me grin. Thoroughly enjoyed it! 0
Dert Etme Sevgilim Seven oN ★ 7
Thought I’d would be another Perfect Housewives but it had a nice twist and posted some interesting questions so definitely enjoyed it. Just the end didn’t make much sense as Alice had already been there, apparently without Jack knowing, so that could/should’ve led her to the exit already… 0
Yerdeniz Öyküleri Seven oN ★ 6
Watched the movie after reading books 1-3 and was surprised how much was changed. This doesn’t have to be a problem (like Ready Player One) but in this case it felt like it was missing something. My buddy watchers think it missed context and background information. Though I’m not sure, that might be it. Enjoyed it nevertheless, but can’t give it more than 6/10 stars. 0
