IMAX 70mm is worth the hype
Watching this film right after finishing the book was a trip. However, a few scenes threw me off a bit since so much of the story got cut for time, and it made me think, if I hadn’t just read it, I probably would’ve been lost. But that’s really my only complaint. Other than that, this movie is truly remarkable.
I still can’t get over how little CGI they used. The Cyclops is a real, giant animatronic thing, not some computer creation. The sets, the costumes, the makeup, every scene in the movie feels so real and convincing. The music is beautiful, and the climax is honestly one of the best that I have seen in recent years.
I also have to mention Robert Pattinson. What an insanely good actor he is. Every scene he’s in, he just takes over completely. His acting masterclass is definitely one of the highlights of this film.
