A fun children’s movie with a wonderful concept: a wardrobe that leads you to another world. Maybe a bit too long, but on the other hand, I don’t feel like it could’ve been shorter. The acting by the kids isn’t really great, Georgie Henley is constantly switching between crying and laughing, but neither feel reel for example. Tilda Swinton and James McAvoy save the day however. People say the movie feels rushed. I have experienced this myself watching a movie after having read the book ok, but as I haven’t read the Narnia books it certainly didn’t feel rushed to me. All in all, when watched critically it may not deserve the full 4 stars and nostalgia may have played a rol, but I definitely enjoyed it! 0

Is the movie unique and spectacular? No. Is it good enough to be enjoyable? Definitely! Jump scares apparently are out of fashion. Well, I like them, especially when they are there but not around every corner. This movie maintains a nice balance in that respect. And sure, when you don’t expect them, they are great but I also like the anticipation of it, knowing you’re going to get a scare, but not knowing when.
The premise was really interesting as well. Where there is God/a positive force, the dark/evil follows. The power of faith. The bloodline with Alice being a descendant of Mary. I have only one (no small) detail that didn’t make sense and somewhat ruined the end for me: Alice should’ve stayed dead. Unless of course they’re planning a sequel, because if Mary lives through her children, there’s nothing holding her from coming back. I think it would’ve been way more powerful to let Alice actually die.

A somewhat strange start and over the top acting by Matthias made me doubt if I was going to like this movie. But I did! I grew attached to the characters and laughed out loud a couple of times. Maybe it’s not worth the full 4 stars but I feel like 3.5 stars would be an underrating.

A comedy? Not really. It tries to, but it often fails, especially during the more dramatic scenes. Just as it tries to be a drama and fails as well. I know the 2 can be combined but I don’t feel like this movie succeeded in this. The humor in the dramatic parts was cringy. The drama was there but at times superficial and not realistic. All in all a movie that tried too hard, I believe. Please stick to the humor, that’s what made these movies fun.

I really had to sleep on this one. I don’t like over the top movies, and this one truly is over the top. Still, it intrigued me and kept me focused during the entire movie. Why? Because it’s not over the top for the sake of being over the top. It brings a message, a message which, having read various reviews, has subtle differences for each one of us. Combine that with excellent acting and you have a movie that stays with you and makes you think.

Very interesting topics executed soberly.
What is our true nature? Are we inclined to act aggressively, in order not only to survive but secure a position high in the hierarchy?
- What is better: everything tranquil and peaceful with no highs and lows or experience the highs (and lows) but at a certain cost?
- The manipulation by so called leaders? How often do we wonder how such people become leaders? Well, watch the movie. Also, very actual topic (unfortunately).
- Group pressure and mania.
And so on and do on. There’s so much more to this movie than many reviews give it credit for. Definitely underrated.

I am sure, without a doubt, that this was meant as a comedy. But even as a comedy it surely must be the worst movie I have ever seen. The acting is SO bad that the plot(holes) even go(es) unnoticed. I rarely ever say “don’t watch this movie, it’s a complete waste of time”, but.... don’t watch this movie, it’s a complete waste of time!!

A Moving Story

This film was recommended by the mother of the Mayor of New York so I had to see iț. I found a moving story about two gay male lovers who reunite amidst one of the lover's funeral in rural India. The movie is well made and rhe story is even more compelling as it takes place in rural India. Indeed, the story is as beautiful as the movie. 0

OVERHYPED
I liked the visuals, sound design, the idea behind it and that Demi Moore wasn't afraid of showing how 'old' she has become. But as the creation of Sue started happening the story started lacking substance.
How come the 'better self' knows right from the start what to do to keep themselves alive, but doesn't know what's best for them?
How come the 'better self' is only a younger version and not a better version characterwise?
And when I see Sue's butt one more time...
To me it felt like two movies merged together:
1) The critisism of beauty standards which was way too obvious to a point it got annoying. The final is some nice body horror though.
2) A story about addiction - substance abuse so to say.

If you want to watch Doctor Strange 2 aka a generic Marvel Movie with some PG-13 horror elements and cameos that have already been spoiled a while ago, go for it, you will be pleased - the girls in the row behind us had a blast.
If you want to see a Multiverse of Madness better watch Everything Everywhere All at Once.
I normally love (most of) the MCU stuff and was so happy when they introduced the multiverse but then this movie happened...
I think I have given it a higher rating in a universe where it doesn't have "Multiverse" in the title.

Mira que tiene todas las papeletas para ser una peli brutal y al final acaba siendo bastante pocha. Hay que ordenar mejor las ideas que se tienen. Un poco dirección tiktok en busca del frame pero con un diseño de producción molón. Me lo he pasado bien, tampoco os voy a engañar. Además se queda una playlist bastante de puta madre. 0

Esos fundidos a negro sin ton ni son deberían estar tipificados como delito en el código penal. Guachi lo de optimizar el presupuesto y sí que hay escenitas que funcionan pero hay planos y movimientos de cámara completamente absurdos y me han sacado completamente. Creo que la hubiera disfrutado más en grupo. Enfin, otra peli de terror de “concepto” que se estira un poquito de más y se queda pobre. 0
